DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CLEAN CHICKEN FRAM

Raising chickens as well as pigs, the cleaning of the barn needs to be given top priority to avoid directly affecting the health of both the animals and the farm staff.

The purpose of cleaning the chicken barn is to prevent all diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites that cause chickens to get sick, die in large numbers, causing waste of medicine and care.

Therefore, chicken farms need to have a plan to clean the barn daily and monthly.

When raising chickens and pigs, the first thing to pay attention to is cleaning the barn to avoid causing bad odors that directly affect the health of the animals and staff on the farm.

Cleaning chicken coops is to prevent all diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites.

1. Cleaning the chicken coop needs to be done every day.

Open the door to let the warm sunlight into the coop.

Every morning, open all the doors of the coop to let the morning sunlight shine into the entire coop, helping the air in the coop to be warm, and thereby destroy germs and parasites hiding in the corners of the chicken coop, under the feathers of the chickens (except in the case that it rains or is about to rain that morning).

Clean the chicken feeders and waterers.

The types of food and water troughs for chickens contain a lot of disease-causing bacteria, so they need to be cleaned daily and disinfected regularly.

Replace the manure trough.

The coops for chicks, broilers and egg-laying hens all have manure troughs. After a day, each trough is full of dirty manure, so it needs to be taken out and cleaned before being put back in its old place for use again. To be more hygienic, each barn should have two manure troughs: the trough used yesterday has been cleaned and disinfected in the sun and will be used today. The dirty trough today will be cleaned and used tomorrow.

Fresh manure also contains fungi and microorganisms found in the daily food of chickens, cows, and pigs.

Clean up spilled food.

Chickens have a habit of using their beaks to scrape back and forth on the trough when eating, trying to find their favorite food to eat first, so the food is scattered all over the place. Few chickens bother to pick up every single dropped grain, so we need to clean it up regularly. If we leave it scattered like that, ants and cockroaches will quickly smell it and come… which will be even more harmful to the health of the chickens.

Clean the barn.

The paths in the chicken coop and the corridors around the chicken coop area need to be cleaned regularly. Only then can we prevent pathogens from outside from entering the breeding area…

Farmers clean the barn regularly to ensure the barn is clean.

2. Things to do monthly.

There are many things that do not require you to clean the chicken coop every day, but only once a week or month, such as:

Disinfecting tools in the coop.

Tools in the chicken coop such as hoes, shovels, wheelbarrows, basins, baskets, brooms, etc. need to be disinfected after each use to be hygienic. However, we usually just wash them roughly to clean the dirt and sand, then take them out to use again when needed. That’s not enough, we need to disinfect tools with a disinfectant solution like Arusan, which both kills harmful bacteria and ensures the safety of livestock.

Deodorize.

If the chicken coop is properly constructed, always well-ventilated and kept clean, the stench will not be too strong or unpleasant to smell. One of the commonly used deodorizers today is organic carbon, which helps reduce odors and flies from chicken manure. In particular, the product is extremely safe for chickens and farmers, helping chickens increase their resistance to disease.

The stench is not only unpleasant for people but also harmful to the health of chickens, because chickens are very sensitive to this foul smell, susceptible to respiratory diseases.

Prevent pathogens from entering.

One way to keep chicken coops clean and prevent pathogens from entering is to disinfect the coops periodically every month. In addition, people who are responsible for cleaning and feeding the chickens should also be disinfected before entering the chicken coop.
