In this year’s award ceremony, Vinamilk received high praise because in the field of animal husbandry – agriculture, minimizing negative impacts on the environment is very challenging, requires a methodical investment of businesses and the flexibly apply models of regenerative agriculture and circular economy to help improve the environment.
Located in the south of Lam Vien plateau, Vinamilk Dalat dairy farm cluster includes 3 dairy farms, developed according to GlobalG.A.P and European Organic (EU Organic) standards, capable of providing about 8,238 tons of raw milk per year. In particular, Vinamilk Organic Dalat Farm is the first European organic farm in Vietnam, put into operation in 2017, the output is currently 4,129 tons of organic fresh milk per year.
Since starting to build, Vinamilk has invested in many modern technologies to preserve the environment inside and around the farm area, while promoting sustainable development initiatives, limiting negative impacts. onto the environment.
Typically, the management and treatment of waste are carried out according to strict procedures. The farm applies equipment lines imported from Europe to collect and treat livestock waste, and also invests in a system of biogas tanks with large capacity, both helping to turn waste into organic fertilizer for livestock. plants and soil improvement. Gas is used to heat water to pasteurize milk for calves, dry grass and serve the operation of the farm.
The farm also applies Organic Carbon technology from Japan to deal with odor problems in livestock, initially with positive results, the odor has been solved almost completely.
Vinamilk Dalat Dairy Farm is also one of the pioneer farms in the application of renewable energy technology from a very early age. Electricity from the solar system was used for lighting and other farm operations. It is estimated that the amount of solar power emitted from the farm helps reduce emissions by nearly 6,000 tons of CO2/year, equivalent to 310,000 trees planted. By the beginning of 2022, all Vinamilk’s farms have installed solar energy.
A system of 13 farms spread across the country, playing an important role in the company’s value chain, therefore, applying high technology to agriculture and dairy farming in the direction of sustainable and friendly development. environment is identified by Vinamilk as one of the key strategies. Besides the European organic standard farm, Vinamilk currently has 3 farms built according to the Green Farm ecological model, all of which are certified “Global Good Agricultural Practices” (GlobalG.A.P). ).
These efforts of Vinamilk not only contribute to ensuring the supply of international standard fresh milk ingredients, but also promote Vietnam’s agriculture and dairy farming towards a more sustainable, greener trend and move towards forming a “net-zero” dairy farms in the near future.
